In my Yoga classes we focus on releasing tension and restoring peace, building strength, moving with the breath, exploring the posture, and seeking stillness of the monkey mind.
Through gentle exploration of movement and emotion, we create connection to a healthier body and mind.

Classes always work on exploring the current state of the body, mind and emotions, working through any blockages and getting to know yourself deeper through the practice of yoga.
Learn to foster self-love and acceptance by exploring the body, calming the mind and opening your heart.

We may also include mini ceremonies, rituals, meditations, affirmations, gratitude exercises and partner yoga.

Laughter Yoga

A mix of laughter exercises, role play, simple yoga postures and breathing lets people take off their mask, open up, connect and allow themselves to play. We lighten up, take life less seriously and feel more joy in day to day activities. 🙂

Laughter Yoga is a wonderfully unique method that shows people how to laugh for absolutely no reason! No jokes, humor or comedy needed – HA!

Laughter is initiated as a group exercise by eye contact and childlike playfulness, which soon turns into contagious unstoppable laughter.
As laughing is one of the most powerful natural breathing exercises, when combined with yogic breathing techniques the outcome can be maximized in order to get the health benefits, which start from 10-15 min of continuous deep laughing. This is scientifically proven to bring measurable physical changes like increased oxygen levels in the blood, better circulation, muscle relaxation and the release of happy hormones!!

Learn to release daily stress and old trauma

Stress can affect us in many ways from poor sleep, night terrors and bad dreams, short temper or irritability, unexplained digestive issues, chronic pain and stiff muscles all the way to feeling tight, stuck and anxious.
Do you lash out at coworkers or loved ones, find it difficult to “loosen up” without a glass of wine or find you are having issues with post workout fatigue?

In stressful or traumatic situations, the body will respond with a fight, flight or freeze reaction to some degree. This reaction is extremely important and as a well functioning stress response is a vital and healthy reaction of the human body – it prepares us for the task at hand and helps us survive by keeping us from emotional and physical harm. 
However after the stressful event, when the body’s attempt to return to calmness is unsuccessful, the resulting muscle tension from the stress reaction remains activated in the body. If the body cannot / does not release the tension from repeated stressful / traumatic events, symptoms of exhaustion, anxiety, depression, shallow breathing, tight muscles, panic, agitation, crankiness, memory loss and /or alcohol and substance misuse may result.
Stress and Trauma work on a continuum – Trauma is the severest form of stress, and the accumulation of years of low-grade stress can be traumatic.

When we learn how to deal with and even embrace stress and trauma, we can actually grow from the experience.

Clever as Mother Nature is it didn’t only give us the alarm system to protect us from danger but also the mechanism that can discharge the tension and stress from the body after the threat is over.
The following technique taps into our bodies wisdom to release tension and trauma without having to negotiate with the mind.

Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®)

TRE is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. It safely activates a natural reflex mechanism in the body of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. This natural shaking/vibrating response appears to be the body’s own built-in system for quieting down the brain and releasing muscular tension as a way of healing itself from chronic stress, tension and trauma.
